Ontology of the site

Every notion used on this site has one stable address, one definition in French and English, and a link to the page that explains it. 72 concepts, published as a SKOS vocabulary that people and machines can reuse.

The definitions are those of the site's own pages. 36 concepts point to Wikidata where an item with the same meaning exists (checked through the Wikidata API), and the articles that introduce or use a notion are linked by DOI (12 articles). Nothing here defines a new quantity: the concepts name what the pages already explain.

The vocabulary is a skos:ConceptScheme at https://www.cyrilvoyant.com/ontology/#cv-concepts. Each concept https://www.cyrilvoyant.com/ontology/#<id> has skos:prefLabel and skos:altLabel in French and English, skos:definition, skos:broader, skos:related, skos:exactMatch (Wikidata), rdfs:seeAlso (the pages) and dcterms:source (DOI). Units are given with schema:unitText. Content is licensed CC BY 4.0.

Example, the NICE entry in Turtle:

cv:nice a skos:Concept ;
    skos:prefLabel "NICE"@fr, "NICE"@en ;
    skos:definition "The forecast error divided by that of persistence, at the same dates and horizon. 0: perfect. 1: as much error as persistence. Above 1 it is written “> 1”: worse than persistence."@en ;
    skos:broader cv:forecast-evaluation ;
    skos:related cv:persistence, cv:rmse, cv:mae ;
    rdfs:seeAlso <https://www.cyrilvoyant.com/latest-publications-and-news/nice-forecast-evaluation/> ;
    dcterms:source <https://doi.org/10.1016/j.seta.2025.104588> .

The publications are described separately, in the publication graph (JSON-LD). The two files share the same site and the same authorship statement; this one describes notions, the other describes articles and software.
